The most luxurious hotels are often located in spectacularly beautiful spots, overlooking some of the most impressive vistas in the world. The most scenic spots aren’t always the easiest to reach by land, however; a luxury helicopter transfer is the easiest and most efficient way to transport you to your hotel or business meeting in the Cote d’Azur. Not only do helicopters allow you to arrive in comfort and privacy, but they also save time and provide views to remember. We’ve compiled a list of four exclusive hotels, each of which offers direct helicopter landing spots within their grounds.

1. Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort.

This luxury resort hotel belongs to the prestigious Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, which owns casinos, golf clubs, restaurants and spas in addition to hotels. The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort is special in every way from its stunning peninsula location to its neo-classical architecture and opulent facilities. Opened in 2006, it is situated in 10 acres of gardens overlooking the Mediterranean; but if the sea isn’t enough, the grounds also contain a sand-bottomed lagoon pool. The majestic resort offers three superb restaurants, including the chic Blue Bay, masterfully managed by its Michelin-starred chef, Marcel Ravin. It’s a paradise of well being with its indoor pool and a 900m2 spa offering a wide range of treatments and services such as a fitness club and a sumptuous Turkish bath. The private helipad is just a 7-minute flight from Nice.

2. Vista Palace Hotel & Beach Resort, Monaco.

The Vista Palace Hotel is famed for its enviable location overlooking the Mediterranean in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. This idyllic location offers views of the Bay of Monaco and the Rock of Grimaldi up to the Ligurian coast, so imagine the views when transferring to Monaco by helicopter. However, that amazing arrival won’t necessarily be the highlight of your stay, since the hotel has many pleasant surprises – not least its own private beach located at the tip of Cap-Martin and 35,000 m² of garden. The interior is equally inviting with a large choice of accommodation (all with breathtaking views) and the corner suites are the best choice with 180° panoramic sea views and private pools. It has everything you can hope for in a luxury hotel: gourmet restaurants, an outdoor pool, a fitness centre and conference rooms.

3. Château Saint-Martin & Spa, Vence.

The Chateau Saint-Martin Hotel is a place that really takes care of the small details to provide an unforgettable retreat. Beyond its location in a 12th-century Knight Templar Castle in the charming market town of Vence, it is elegant, comfortable and extremely well managed. It might not be situated directly by the sea but the gourmet Saint Martin restaurant features a terrace with panoramic views of the Mediterranean coast and an open kitchen. This relaxing Provencal haven is only 13km from the beach, but it’s kid-friendly and boasts its own outdoor pool and tennis courts. The 51 guestrooms have beautiful vistas of the surrounding countryside and gardens and there are 6 villas for guests seeking more privacy. The spa is complemented by a fitness centre, hammam, solarium and sauna. The private heliport discreetly fits in with its surroundings.

4. Mas d’Artigny, St-Paul-de-Vence.

Nestled in a forest of pines across from the walls of St-Paul-de-Vence, Mas d’Artigny Hotel & Spa is a peaceful retreat from the bustling coastal cities of the Cote d’Azur. The 85 rooms have their own balconies and patios and some have their own gardens and private swimming pools. The lush green surroundings are healing in themselves, but regardless, Nocea Spa promises to calm your body and mind with facilities that include a Turkish bath, an infusion bar, a colour pool, a relaxation hall and 11 treatment rooms. There are plenty of activities available for those who want a more physical holiday and hiking, cycling and tennis are all possibilities if you can drag yourself away from the pool. Despite its location in the heart of the countryside, there are views of the Riviera, which can especially be enjoyed when coming in to land at the private helipad.
