25Hours Hotel Zurich West, an urban pearl!

Posted on 01/01/2019 by Eileen Schuch

Tired of too ordinary hotels, mundane rooms and conventional service? Within the district of Zurich West, only a few steps from the Swiss Prime Tower and a multiplex cinema, you’ll find a hotel that made artistic detail its credo and draws inspiration from design. By tram, you’re just minutes from the heart of the city. Make use of 126 rooms, a lounge, a business lounge and a kitchen club, inspired by eclectic designer furniture that have become huge favourites with lovers of beautiful things.

IMG_580025hours no longer refers to measuring time: Today, it is a design hotel chain in Europe. After Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna and Frankfurt, a new member of the family has taken up residence in Zurich in 2012. Skirting the logic hotel chains that uniformity is proof, 25hours Zürich West blends in with its surroundings. The industrial chic look suits the hotel well – and we like it a lot.

Zurich West, a former industrial area of the city, is fertile ground for new urbanity with cool shops, trendy restaurants and cool galleries. In this blooming atmosphere, a prosperous contemporary architecture and décor become irresistible vintage.

Befitting this image, the 25hours Hotel in Zürich boasts comfort and a neat and unique service. Lazing in bed takes on ultra trendy tunes here, and singing in the shower becomes an act of charm. In other words:  Afford yourselves a little tenderness and lodge and eat in style.

The rooms come straight out of a 3D magazine of the most refined design, with a touch of creativity. A magical experience, enhanced by original and creative details. The hotel is full of graphic and artistic interventions.  The brain behind the Hotel? Alfredo Häberli has hit the nail on design. The colourful rugs are by Tai Ping, chairs from Vitra Chairs, Alias beds are all masterpieces to covet. Here, it is not the detail that makes the difference, but the whole.

IMG_5788Won over by the first Hello: After a stunning entrance, the rooms evoke a refined taste in design: They are decorated in bright colours, and come with iHome for iPod. A minibar and a Nespresso machine make sure all your caffeine or hydration cravings are taken care of – absolutely free of charge. A Ping-Pong table, a sauna and a fitness room on the top floor await those who need action. And if you have itchy feet, bicycles and a Mini Cooper are available for free, depending on availability.

When it comes to dining, the restaurant NENI has conquered Zurich in one bite. Behind the scenes, Haya Molcho is a true virtuoso. NENI (the name is made up by the initials of his children, Nuriel, Elior, Nadiv and Ilan) is the result of his passion for cooking – and a result of his cooking trip around the world. A marriage of Persian flavours, combined with Russian, Arabic, Turkish, Romanian, French, Spanish, German and Austrian influences, tingle your taste buds!

Be it for a weekend for two, an urban getaway, a business trip or simply having lost your keys and not willing to sleep under a bridge: This hotel is the perfect choice! I recommend it over and over again.

By the way: No need to tie your tongue in a knot trying to speak German or Swiss German! There is English and French speaking staff available.

In Short: This is a must go, must do, must  – everything! If only the day had 25 hours to enjoy it a little longer…
